A 50 point Strakhov list

So right now I'm trying to plot a list that includes this:

1747

With this:

2791

And this:

2774 2775 2776 2777 2778 2779 2780 2781 2782 2783

Won't be easy, but the list looks like this:

  • Kommander Strakhov +6
    • Conquest 19
    • Spriggan 10
  • Sylyss Wyshnalyrr 2
  • Gorman 2
  • Kossites (full) 6
  • Yuri 3
  • Winterguard Infantry (full) 6
    • UA 2
  • Kovnik Jozef 2
  • Aiyana and Holt 4
And reinforcements will be Assault Kommandos with flamethrowers.

The idea is, while I love Superiority on the Conquest, I'd start out with Superiority on the Spriggan and use the Conquest more as a gun platform to try to trigger Sentry and/or Overrun for the Spriggan. Occultation will go to the Winterguard who won't have to Bob and Weave turns 1 and 2 due to Stealth.

Sylyss gives Strakhov a better hit percentage with Battering Ram which, if you're going to cast it anyway, should be given better odds to hit. Sylyss also saves Strakhov a focus point as he tries to juggle focus for 'jacks, upkeep spells and spells to cast, not to mention boosts of his own.

Gorman plays bodyguard, while the Kossites Ambush and get some help from both Yuri (treewalker!) and Strakhov's feat (16" charge off either table edge? yes, please).

What do you think? Any  advice? I'm worried that this list is too character dependent. I do try to play my casual games as if I were playing a character restricted event, so I'm hoping that I don't have too many eggs in a list that may or may not work.

  1. Pathfinder...you might need it...I find Saxon in all my 50 point lists that don't have a way to give path finder.

  2. Not much wiggle room here. I'll just let Yuri and the Kossites handle the Pathfinder (and the Kommandos with reinforcements!).

  3. Also, I try to play my games as if my lists were character restricted so I'm not hurting when I play in organized events. If I put saxon orrik here, then he doesn't appear elsewhere.

  4. Battering Ram is great and all, but I'd rather use the focus to just shoot stuff with the riot gun. Otherwise, I'm curious to see how it works out! I think Assault Kommandos are totally underrated for what they offer (immunity to fire, corrosion, AND ignore clouds?!).

  5. I almost won a game with Battering ram moving models away from a flag, except I couldn't roll a 6 to hit the titan. :D

  6. I personally still haven't clicked with Strakhov. How are you liking the Kossites? I have yet to ever play with or against them. Although ambush is nice I would tend to go with Great Bears or Doom Reavers with the 5/6 points.
