Painted: Mountain Passes and Giant Rocks

There are prettier ways to make mountain passes, but I went for a method that was easier for me to get done in numbers.

I made 24 mountains to form 12 mountain passes. They are 6" x 15", 3" tall, and made of 2" foam stacked on 1" foam. The line of sand across the mountain feet is used to cover the seam.

And the 80+ rocks I made are 2" foam glued to 2" bases, mostly cut with a retractable hobby blade.

These trolls are meant to serve as scale for the terrain. They sit on 40mm bases to show that the rocks block line of sight.

  1. I think they look fine and functional. That's the important thing for me, really.
