Enter Jarl Skudd (though not literally):
Considerations
Some things to consider with list planning is the new character restriction baseline requirement. If you plan on using characters in a list you have to leave them out of your other ones.
Character models I can't use in my Jarl Skudd list:
- Mulg (Runes of War)
- Janissa Stonetide (Runes of War)
- Skaldi Bonehammer (Family Reunion)
- Rok (Family Reunion)
List I settled on
Points: 50/50
Jarl Skuld, Devil Of Thornwood (*6pts)
* Pyre Troll (5pts)
* Troll Impaler (5pts)
* Earthborn Dire Troll (10pts)
* Trollkin Runebearer (2pts)
Pyg Burrowers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
Trollkin Long Riders (Leader and 4 Grunts) (11pts)
Trollkin Scattergunners (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
* Trollkin Scattergunner Officer & Drummer (2pts)
Fell Caller Hero (3pts)
Horthol, Long Rider Hero (5pts)
Troll Whelps (2pts)
The idea is to skirmish my front lines with the Burrowers until it's time to bring the Long Riders to bear. Burrowers will have Quicken until it's time to Burrow, at which point I'll cast the spell on the Long Riders or the Earthborn.
If I need a super hit, I intend to use Horthol in conjunction with the Earthborn in order to beef up its melee attacks.
And the Scattergunners are the second line. I've never played with them before, so I'm not sure how this is going to go.
Hoping to get some ideas from my readers. All 12 of you (I'm kidding...sort of).

Scattergunners with the UA are actually kind of fun. With Quick Work and Clear!, you can charge something, and, if you kill it, blast away at some other scattergunner who is engaged in combat. Likewise, you can use clear to free up friendly models that have begun the turn engaged, and clear them up for charging.
ReplyDeleteI like Jarl, but with no real offensive spells, and ROF 1 on each of the pistols, he really has to rely on his army to kill things. Good luck with the list!
Yeah, ROF 1 :(
ReplyDeleteThere's more then 12 of us! Looks like a really fun list. Interested in seeing how it works out for ya!
ReplyDeleteRemember that there is a two month lead time on any given battle report... :D
