Participants
Chad brought Circle while John brought the Minions and cracked me up with tales from the crazy.
Tom brought Circle Orboros as while while Chip took the opportunity to play with his Menoth. He simply couldn't get his Legion army put together in time for the event.
Ben ALSO brought Circle, as did Tom on the right. Tom came all the way from Michigan to play games with us this day!
Jeremy, Dan AND Jordan all brought Minions as well, making the Minions coin the most fought over coin at the event.
Aaron was the only player to bring the Legion of Everblight.
Lex, one of the store owners, managed to come by and sneak a single game in against Jeremy with his Skorne.
Scenario
The Domination scenario was a fight in a mountain pass. The goal was to get your warbeasts or warlocks halfway across the table in your enemy's territory and surviving for two turns. The boulders in the center of the mountain pass complicated the scenario.
For this event, I made 24 mountain lines and over 70 phallic looking rocks.
You can see the boulders messing with the players' charge lanes and ability to deal with warbeasts that cross the center.
It was important to have open fists so that you could throw boulders in the way, out of the way, or in someone else's face.
The Boulders
Players scored extra points for modeling the boulders that would be used. Three players showed up this day with boulders.
Jordan took a suggestion and carved his boulders out of foam.
For some reason, Jeremy has three Grind balls. Could he use them for Domination? Absolutely!
AND not to be outdone by his own candy trench, Ben crafted three colorful boulders out of play-doh.
The Winners
After 8 hours of gaming in which most players managed to get at least 5 games in, the following won the following:
Aaron Marra won the Legion of Everblight coin.
Dave Eichler showed up late and still won the Skorne coin (with the blessing of store owner Lex)
Nico the Troll (and the second of three storeowners) won the troll coin playing with (you guessed it) his trolls.(And there's Tom in the background, creeping on the creeper).
This is Chad Kaufman. Ben Lang originally won the top Circle coin and Chad won the second Circle patch (there were just so many Circle Players for some reason), but Ben gave the coin to Chad instead.
This is Ben. At the end of the day, he went home with nothing except his sportsmanship, which is plenty.
Jordan Nach took the Minions coin for coming in second to...
Jeremy Patterson. Because he's a beast.
Much thanks go out to the Dice Dojo for hosting the event, to Lex and Nico, for sneaking games in, to Michael Plummer, who minded the table while I went to fetch my car, to Dan Skibo, for giving me a dollar for a soda, to the girl from Jimmy John's, for delivering my sandwich, and to everyone at the event. I hope you guys had a good time.
