Jordan's list is a pretty hard tournament Harbinger list, complete with Avatar, Covenant, and hard to kill Bastions.
My list is a two bomber two stacked Kriel Warrior unit list where the Bombers try to deal with things at range while the Warriors run interference.
Things are bad from the start as stray bombs deal with Kriel Warriors.
The Harbinger feats early, forcing me to make a hard choice in order to take a flag.
Kriel Warriors run up and start to die to try to contest the flag. However, after I get one in to contest, I push my luck trying to get more.
The Two Bombers start chucking bombs over at the Avatar and other directions.
The Avatar deals with one bomber while stile placing itself in control of the flag. The resulting pooped out Whelps are caught on fire from the Avatar destroying the Bomber.
Bombs and a charging priest with Rhoven charge the Bomber, finishing it off.
Bastions then clear the remaining warriors, and Jordan scores the remaining two points he needs to win the game.
Clearly, my Madrak list was flawed as were many of choices throughout the game. So next time, maybe I won't lose as bad!
Don't feel bad about the loss, Harbinger is brutal against Hordes lists and it looks like your buddy knows what he's doing.
ReplyDeleteIn the future you should know that you can move in her control area during her feat, just not TOWARDS her. If you plan your movements accordingly, you can have models moving sideways and backwards away from her while remaining unaffected by her feat. That would've saved you many many models if you had done that.
Also the Avatar is a jerk.
Oh, I know the Harbinger. He pushed her forward to make it difficult to move in such a way that didn't end with movement closer to her than I began. The only way I could contest the flag was to move closer. Nothing else worked.
ReplyDeleteDid the Stone Scribe Elder's Combat Warding not help at all against Harbinger's feat?
ReplyDeleteCombat warding doesn't prevent the feat because it prevents continuous effects not fire type damage
